Spring Cleaning and Decluttering

My mom is coming to visit for her Spring Break, so I decided to use it as the perfect excuse opportunity to spring clean and declutter.

A few days ago I sat down and divided the house in to zones, with the plan to work on one zone a day and take a few days off. As I fill bags or boxes, they go either to the trash or to the back of the van to go to the thrift store.

1. Master bathroom/Master bedroom closet
2. Master bedroom
3. Hall bath/Hall closet
4. Van
5. Alex and Ethan closet
6. Alex and Ethan bedroom
7. Christian closet
8. Christian bedroom
9. Desk
10. Red cabinet/Black hutch
11. Living room
12. Dining room/school cabinet/book case
13. Balcony

So far, things are going really well. Marty is off tomorrow and is taking 4 days off next week, so I think I will rope him in to helping me. The great thing about dividing the apartment in to such small zones is that even with a deep cleaning, it shouldn't take more than an hour to finish. With the boys helping me, it took less than 15 minutes to finish my closet. Not too bad!

When I break the house into zones, cleaning is much easier and quicker to do. The only bad thing is that I'm always cleaning!
